Abstract
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) characterized by neurological symptoms, is a clinically and radiologically reversible disease. Eclampsia is one of the rare causes of PRES. PRES is especially considered when seizures are seen in pregnant women with hypertension and proteinuria. Two patients, admitted to our hospital with seizures in the third trimester of pregnancy, were diagnosed with status epilepticus, antihypertensive and antiepileptic treatment were administered and delivered with cesarean section. Encephalopathy was detected in patients during this period, brain MRIs revealed PRES. After treatment, MRI lesions regressed and the seizures were taken under control. In this article, it is aimed to present two cases with eclampsia and PRES coexistence and review PRES disease clinically and radiologically.
