The Comparison of Anti-Bodies Levels of Anti-Endothelial Cell in Patients with Aortic Aneurysm and Those with Healthy Volunteers and Patients with Rheumatic Diseases

Abstract

Antiendothelial cell antibodies (AECA) are heterogeneous group of antibodies against various antigenic determinants on endothelial cells. Serum levels of antiendothelial cell antibodies are known to be high in rheumatic diseases with vasculitis. Aortic aneurysms are one of the most important cardiovascular diseases with the ratios of high mortality and morbidity. Several factors play a role in the development of aortic aneurysms and one of these reasons is autoimmunity. In our study, we aimed to compare AECA levels of patients with aortic aneurysm with the individuals of healthy controls and with rheumatic diseases. 40 aortic aneurysm patients, 40 rheumatic disease patients and 40 healthy controls have been included. The method of Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) method was used to analyze of AECA serum levels. The mean of AEHA level in the aneurysmal group was 19.75 ng/mL. CRP levels were measured by nephelometric method. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate was assessed by Vacuette SRS 100/II analyzer. We found that AECA levels were higher in patients with aortic aneurysm compared to healthy controls (19.75±23.99, 6.34 ±7.13; p<0.01). There was no difference in AECA levels between the rheumatic group and the aneurysmal group (19.75±23.99, 20.07±27.58; p=0.981). There was a positive correlation between AECA and CRP levels in the aneurysmal disease group (r:0.400; p<0.05). In addition, there was a positive correlation between AECA and erythrocyte sedimentation rate in the aneurysmal disease group (r:0.532; p<0.01).

Aort Anevrizmalı Hastalarda Anti-Endotel Hücre Antikor Düzeylerinin Sağlıklı ve Romatizmal Hastalığa Sahip Bireylerle Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Antiendotel hücre antikorları  (AEHA),  endotel hücreleri üzerindeki çeşitli antijenik determinantlara karşı oluşmuş heterojen yapıda antikor grubudur. AEHA düzeyleri vaskülitle seyreden romatizmal hastalıklarda yüksektir. Aort anevrizmaları yüksek mortalite ve morbidite oranları ile önemli kardiyovasküler hastalıklardan biridir. Aort anevrizması gelişimde birçok faktör rol oynamaktadır ve bu nedenlerden biri de otoimmünitedir. Çalışmamızda aort anevrizmalı hastaların AEHA seviyelerini, sağlıklı kontroller ve romatizmal hastalıklı bireylerle karşılaştırmayı amaçladık. Çalışmaya 40 aort anevrizmalı hasta, 40 romatizmal hasta ve 40 sağlıklı kontrol alındı. AEHA serum düzeyleri ölçümünde Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) yöntemi kullanıldı. Anevrizmal grupta AEHA düzeyi ortalaması 19.75 ng/mL olarak bulundu. CRP düzeyleri nefelometrik yöntemle ölçüldü. Eritrosit sedimentasyon hızı Vacuette SRS 100/II analizörü ile değerlendirildi. Aort anevrizmalı hastalarda AEHA seviyelerini sağlıklı kontrol grubuna göre yüksek bulduk (19.75±23.99, 6.34 ±7.13; p<0.01). AEHA seviyelerinde romatizmal grup ile anevrizmal grup arasında fark yoktu (19.75±23.99, 20.07±27.58; p=0.981). Anevrizmal hastalık grubunda AEHA ile CRP düzeyleri arasında pozitif korelasyon tespit edildi (r:0.400; p<0.05). Anevrizmal hastalık grubunda AEHA ile sedimentasyon hızı arasında pozitif korelasyon tespit edildi (r:0.532; p<0.01).
