Kalp Yetersizliği ile Takip Edilen Hastalarda Anemi Sıklığı : Pilot Çalışma

Abstract

Giriş:

Anemi kalp yetersizliği (KY) olan hastalarda sık görülen
bir komorbiditedir ve kötü fonksiyonel kapasite, artmış mortalite ve morbidite
oranları ile ilişkili olduğu gösterilmiştir. Yaşlanan nüfusla birlikte KY olan
hastalarda artış görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada kliniğimizde takip etmekte
olduğumuz KY hastalarında anemi oranının saptanması amaçlanmış ve nedenleri
tartışılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Metod:

Ocak 2018 ile Haziran 2018 arasındaki 6 aylık sürede
kardiyoloji polikliniğine başvurmuş hastalar geriye dönük olarak taranmış ve KY
olan hastaların hemogram, biyokimya, transferrin saturasyonu (TSAT) ve ferritin
değerleri kayıt edilmiştir.

Sonuçlar:

Retrospektif olarak taranan 221 hastanın 114 tanesinde
(%51.6) anemi olduğu saptandı. Bu anemik hastaların cinsiyet dağılımlarına
bakıldığında % 53’ünün erkek, % 48.6 tanesinin ise kadın olduğu görüldü. Kronik
böbrek hastalığı (KBH) bulunanların istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olacak şekilde
daha fazla anemiye sahip oldukları saptandı (p= 0.003). Ferritin ve B12 değerleri açısından iki grup arasında
anlamlı bir fark görülmedi (p>0.05). TSAT açısından değerlendirildiğinde
anemisi bulunan hastalarda bu değerin anlamlı olarak daha düşük olduğu saptandı
(p<0.001).

Tartışma:

Takip
etmekte olduğumuz KY hastalarının yarısında anemi bulunmaktadır. KY
hastalardaki aneminin düzeltilmesi bu hastaların prognozunda fayda
sağlayacaktır.

Frequency of Anemia in Patients with Heart Failure : A Plot Study

Abstract

Introduction:

Anemia
is a common comorbidity in patients with heart failure (HF) and it is
associated with poor functional capacity, increased mortality and morbidity
rates. Because of aging population, the number of patients with HF is
increasing. In this study, it is aimed that determine to frequency of anemia in
patient with HF following in our clinic.

Methods:

Patients
admitted to cardiology clinic for 6 months between January-June 2018 was
screened retrospectively and hemogram, biochemistry, transferrin saturation
(TSAT) and ferritin values of patients with HF were recorded.

Results:

Anemia
was detected in 114 (51.6%) of 221 retrospectively screened patients. When
analyzed to gender distributions of these patients, 53% were male, 48.6% were
female. Number of anemic patients was statistically higher than number of non-anemic
patients in the group of chronic kidney disease (p=0.003). Levels of ferritin and vitamin B12 were not
significantly different between two groups (p> 0.05). When evaluated in
terms of TSAT, this value was found to be significantly lower in patients with
anemia (p <0.001).

Conclusion:

We
have found that anemia present in half of the patients with HF admitted in our
clinic. Correction of the anemia in patients with HF will benefit the prognosis
of these patients.
