Sultan Abdulhamid II's printing and publishing policies, such as the falsification, prohibition, and burning of religious books, are considered one of the reasons for his dethronement and have been the subject of many studies. This article evaluates some of the archival documents concerning the Epic of Abu Muslim, the printing of which was religiously and politically prohibited under the printing policies of Abdulhamid II. The relevant documents include the inspections to identify the epic in question, the places of inspection, the reason for the ban, and the process of its collection and destruction.

Bu yazıda, II. Abdulhamid devri matbuât politikası çerçevesinde basımı dinen ve siyaseten men edilen Ebû Müslim Destanı’na yönelik arşiv belgelerinin bir kısmı değerlendirilmiştir. İlgili belgeler, söz konusu destanın tespitine yönelik denetimler, denetim yerleri, yasaklanma gerekçesi, toplatılma ve imha sürecine yer vermektedir.
