Aim & Scope

Aim:
The Journal of Scientific Mysticism and Literature is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed platform that examines the intersections of literary expression and mystical thought across cultures, historical periods, and theoretical frameworks. The journal aims to illuminate how literary works influence and are influenced by mystical traditions and to promote a deeper understanding of shared aesthetic, philosophical, and spiritual dimensions. It also covers analyses, reviews, and research-oriented studies on the philosophy of literature, comparative literature, literature in politics, economics, sociology, folk literature, contemporary literature, and Eastern literature.

Scope:
The Journal of Scientific Mysticism and Literature invites original research articles, critical essays, and reviews that examine literature and mysticism from various perspectives. These include, but are not limited to. The following subjects are essential for the journal:
1. Historical and Cultural Studies: Comparative analyses of mystical literature from different traditions in Sufism, Christian mysticism, gnosis and mystical literature, mystical poetry, and Eastern literature are within the scope of the journal's work.
2. Literature movements and methods: The study of mystical themes in specific literary movements or periods, such as Romanticism, Symbolism, Modernism, and post-modernism.
3. Philosophical and Theoretical Approaches: Applications of literary theory, phenomenology, hermeneutics, or post-structuralism to mystical texts are also within the scope of the journal's work and publication. Explorations of the epistemological and ontological intersections of mystical and literary expression are also focal points of the journal.
4. Aesthetic and Linguistic Studies: Studies that use symbolism, metaphor, and allegory to convey mystical experiences. Linguistic approaches to ineffability, paradox, and silence in mystical and literary texts are also within the journal's scope.
5. Interdisciplinary Perspectives: The journal explores dialogues between literature, mysticism, and other fields such as psychology, theology, anthropology, and cognitive science. It also examines the role of mysticism in literary adaptations, translations, and multimedia representations.
6. Contemporary and Global Contexts: Mystical influences in modern and contemporary literature, including speculative fiction and postcolonial writing. Reflections on mysticism in a globalized and digitalized literary landscape, as well as exploratory articles on Eastern philosophy and logic, are also among the journal's areas of focus.
7. Creative Contributions: Original literary works (academic research) inspired by mystical themes. Creative essays or reflections on the practice of writing as a mysterious or transcendent act.
The journal aims to serve scholars, educators, and practitioners interested in understanding the deep and nuanced connections between literature and mysticism. The Journal of Scientific Mysticism and Literature aims to enrich literary and spiritual studies by providing a forum for innovative and rigorous scholarship.
The Journal of Scientific Mysticism and Literature is published 4 times a year. However, it also aims to publish special issues when deemed appropriate.

Evaluation Process
Academic studies submitted to the Journal of Scientific Mysticism and Literature are primarily pre-evaluated by the editorial board in compliance with the journal's focus and scope. The suitable studies are then transferred to the field editor and sent to the double referee for field evaluation. The double-masked peer review application is valid, and the referee cannot see the information of the academic study owners. Reviewers are given 30 days to complete their review for formality and originality.
As a result of the reports from the referees:
1. Accepting the application (no editing needed),
2. Minor editing required (Author will be accepted if they make the minor corrections specified),
3. Major editing required (Author will be accepted if they make the essential corrections indicated),
3. Reject application (if the writing is substandard)
It must specify one of its options. In case of an "accept the application" or a "reject the application" evaluation from the
referees, the article is sent to a third referee to be examined for formality and originality. Then, all evaluations on the subject are sent to the author. A stylistic change may be requested if the language or writing style is substandard. The editorial board makes the final decision regarding the publication of the studies.
Authors are advised to download and review all evaluation forms (form and content pre-evaluation, field editor, and referee forms) used by the journal to guide them while writing their article proposals.
Before the author receives final approval for their articles, they must complete the commitment or declaration of originality form (Form 1.a) and send it to the journal editor.
