DOĞRUDAN YABANCI YATIRIM VE EKONOMİK ÖZGÜRLÜKLER İLİŞKİSİ: OECD ÜLKELERİ ÜZERİNE BİR NEDENSELLİK ANALİZİ

Abstract

1980 sonrası
küresel ekonomideki değişim, ülkeler arasında var olan sınırlamaları azaltarak
ülkeler arasındaki entegrasyon derecesini artırdı. 1980'li yıllardan itibaren
gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler arasında kalkınma biçimlerindeki ekonomik
ilişkiler, daha sonra doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar (DYY) gibi ekonomik
kriterlerin var olduğu yerlere sermaye akışlarına aktarılmıştır. Özellikle,
gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ekonomik kalkınma ve istikrarı sağlamak ve gelişimsel
farklılıkları kapatmak için yoğun olarak yatırım yapmaları gerekmektedir.
Literatürde, bir ülkede DYY'nin performansını etkilediğini gösteren çok sayıda
teorik ve ampirik çalışma bulunmaktadır. Son zamanlarda, ekonomik özgürlük ve
DYY arasında olası bir ilişki vurgulanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, OECD ülkelerinin
1997-2016 dönemi için doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar ve ekonomik özgürlükler
arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yapılan analiz
sonucunda DYY'den ekonomik özgürlüğe doğru nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmamakta
fakat ekonomik özgürlükten DYY’ye doğru nedensellik ilişkisi bulunmaktadır.
