Eğitimde Metaverse’ün bibliyometrik analizi

Abstract

Öğrencilerin kişiselleştirilmiş bir gerçeklikte çalışmasına olanak tanıyan yeni öğrenme ortamlarının oluşturulması, eğitim ve öğretim aşamalarında Metaverse’ün kullanımının yaygınlaşmasını artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, eğitim alanındaki Metaverse ile ilgili yerli ve yabancı literatürde yer alan mevcut araştırmaları incelemektir. Çalışmada, Web of Science (WoS) veri tabanından elde edilen, “metaverse education”, “metaverse student”, “metaverse teaching”, “metaverse school” ve “metaverse e-learning” anahtar sözcüklerini içeren birden çok makale, bildiri, derleme makale, kitap bölümü ve mektup bibliyometrik analiz ile incelenmiştir. Bibliyometrik analizinde R tabanlı açık kaynaklı bir araç olan Bibliometrix’in sunduğu web uygulaması Biblioshiny kullanılmıştır. Sonuçların yapıcı ve eksiksiz olabilmesi için belirli bir yıl, konu veya eğitim seviyesi kısıtlaması getirilmemiştir. Çalışmada öncelikle, Metaverse’e genel bir bakış sunularak, Metaverse’ün eğitime getireceği önemli özellikler araştırılmıştır. Ardından, bibliyometrik araştırmalarda kullanılan çeşitli analiz tekniklerinin (ortak atıf analizi, kaynakça eşleşmesi, ortak yazar analizi vb.) uygulandığı çalışmalar görselleştirilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın, eğitim-Metaverse sarmalı kapsamında gelecekte yapılacak araştırmalar için yol gösterici olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Bibliometric analysis of the Metaverse in education

Abstract

The creation of new learning environments that allow students to work in a personalized reality increases the widespread use of Metaverse in education and training stages. The aim of this study is to examine the existing researches in the domestic and foreign literature on Metaverse in the field of education. In the study, multiple articles, papers, review articles, book chapter and letter were analyzed by bibliometric analysis containing the keywords ″metaverse education″, ″metaverse student″, ″metaverse teaching″, ″metaverse school″ and ″metaverse e-learning″ obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. Biblioshiny, a web application provided by Bibliometrix, an R-based open source tool, was used in the bibliometric analysis. In order for the results to be constructive and complete, no specific year, subject or education level restrictions were imposed. In the study, first of all, an overview of Metaverse was presented and the important features that Metaverse would bring to education were investigated. Then, in this study, where various analysis techniques used in bibliometric research (co-citation analysis, bibliography matching, etc.) were applied, the data were visualized and interpreted using the biblioshiny web interface. It is thought that this study will be a guide for future research within the scope of education-Metaverse spiral.
