Abstract

Bu çaly?mada, Scutellaria orientalis L. subsp. bicolor (Hochst.) Edmondson' in su ve etanol ekstrelerinin antiradikal aktivitesi ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)) radikal temizleme kapasitesi and DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radikal temizleme kapasitesi gibi çe?itli antiradikal yöntemler tarafyndan de?erlendirildi. Bu çe?itli antiradikal aktiviteler bütillendirilmi? hidroksianisol (BHA), bütillendirilmi? hidroksitoluen (BHT) ve α-tokoferol gibi standart antioksidanlarla kar?yla?tyryldy. Scutellaria orientalis' in ekstreleri kuvvetli antioksidan aktivite gösterdi. Mevcut çaly?mada alynan sonuçlar Scutellaria orientalis' in do?al antioksidanlaryn potansiyel bir kayna?y oldu?unu gösterdi.

Abstract

In this study, the antiradikal activity of
water and ethanol extracts of
Scutellaria
orientalis
L. subsp. bicolor (Hochst.) Edmondson was
evaluated by various antiradical assay,
ABTS
(2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic
acid))
radical scavenging capacity
and DPPH
(
2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl)
radical
scavenging capacity
. Those various antiradical activities were compared to
standard antioxidants such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated
hydroxytoluene (BHT), and
α-tocopherol. The
extracts of
Scutellaria
orientalis
showed strong antioxidant
activity. The results obtained in the present study indicated that
Scutellaria orientalis is a potential source of natural antioxidant.
