Elemantary Students Use of Smart Board The Effect of Achievement and Attitude in Science and Technology Course

Abstract

The purpose of this study is the investigation of the effect of use the smart board the achievement of the 6th grade students. This study based on pretest posttest design. There were individual interviews made with students after the study. All the students were subjected to aâ¬Å"Heat Diffusion Achievement Testa⬠and aâ¬Å"Smart Board Attitude Scalea⬠prior to the study. The achievement test and the questionnaire were also applied after the completion of the study. Hypotheses were evaluated by t-test and Pearson correlation. The statistical analyses revealed that the science course taught by the use of smart board were statistically better than whiteboard chalk as regards to both the academic achievement and the understanding of the concepts. Smart board, if used all the features in a conscious way, and the attitude towards science and technology courses will positively affect the success.

AKILLI TAHTA KULLANIMININ FEN VE TEKNOLOJİ DERSİNDEKİ BAŞARI VE TUTUMA ETKİSİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma akıllı tahta kullanımının İlköğretim 6. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersinde âIsının Yayılmasıâ konusunun öğrenci başarısına olan etkisini ve öğrencilerin akıllı tahtaya karşı tutumlarını ölçmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma yöntemi olarak öntest-sontest tek gruplu deneysel model kullanılmış ve öğrencilerle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Başarı testi ve Akıllı Tahta tutum ölçeği öntest-sontest olarak uygulanmıştır. Başarı Testi öntest sontest sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunurken, cinsiyet açısından anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Akıllı Tahta Tutum Anketi öntest sontest sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunurken, cinsiyet açısından anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Başarı testi sontest ve Tutum anketi sontest sonuçları arasında zayıf ve pozitif yönde korelasyon bulunmuştur. Akıllı tahta tüm özellikleriyle bilinçli bir şekilde kullanıldığı takdirde Fen ve Teknoloji derslerine karşı tutum ve başarıyı olumlu yönde etkileyecektir.
