A GENERAL VIEW ON WRITING ACTIVITIES IN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION
Abstract
In this study writing activities in mathematics education taken into consideration. The researchers mention that there is a strong connection between writing and learninig. Since in our country writing activities are not well known and not often used, it is thought that this study could be useful to draw interest to the subject, to make it better known and be a possible area of research in mathematics education. Here, literature in writing activities in mathematics education were examined in detail and a general selection were presented starting from three main points. First, the place and importance of writing activities in mathematics education was mentioned. Then, some classifications were given about types of writing activities and in the last section some summaries of research results in writing activities were presented.
