EVALUATION OF STRATEGY, METHOD, TECHNIQUES AND TACTICS USED BY PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS DURING SCIENCE TEACHING AFTER INNOVATIVE TEACHING PRACTICES
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the teaching strategies, method, techniques and tactics which use to realize the determined subject gains by pre-service teachers and the frequency at which the selected strategies, method, techniques and tactics are used in the daily plans designed according to the 5-E model in the process of teaching the 4th grade science course. Their course designs were released in accordance with the selected science subjects for 14 weeks during the spring. Content analysis method was used in the research. The daily plans of the pre-service teachers during the lecture were examined and the methods of implementation of the teaching strategies, method, techniques and tactics chosen during the course presentations were evaluated in terms of their suitability. It was determined that prospective teachers used “Concept Cartoon” at the introduction stage to determine readiness levels, they preferred the “Laboratory” method which was prepared by open-ended experimental reports during the discovery phase, they preferred the teaching strategy through presentation during the explanation phase, they preferred active learning techniques such as “Card Display” and “Heck” in deepening phase and they preferred educational games such as a ”What’s wrong?” and the Web 2.0 tool such as “Kahoot” in the evaluation stage, moving away from traditional measurement and evaluation tools.
