AN OVERVIEW OF POSTGRADUATED DISSERTATIONS ABOUT CHOIR IN TURKEY

Abstract

In this research, postgraduated dissertations about choir which has important contributions for art education and human life, were investigated. Within this context, the aim of this study is to classify the postgraduated dissertations which were written according to the choir types from past to present.The descriptive survey method were used in this research. 39 postgraduated theses which belong to 1987-2011, were reached from National Dissertation Centre of Council of Higher Education and were classified into three as; choir in general, nonprofessional and professional music education. The main groups were divided into sub-groups according to their contents. By using the descriptive statistic methods, data were converted into frequancy tables, results were ensued and some suggestions which are contributed to the literature about choir were developed
