SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS’ OPINIONS REGARDING PROJECT WORKS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to introduce the primary school social studies teacher’s opinions about using project works in their lessons in Turkey. The research has been conducted with 2 teachers in each geographical region, in the aggregate 14 teachers, in accordance with the data which have been gathered by semi-constructed interview forms. Through the research which have been prepared in qualitative features, snowball sampling method has been conducted. According to the findings of the research, here are some results that have been reached; project works in social studies lessons haven’t been conducted properly in our schools because of environmental factors, project works are mostly beneficial in terms of achieving research skills, project topics are mostly chosen from current events
