Şeyh smail Hakkı Zühdî Efendi (1862/63-1912-13) was an officer
in the Ottoman bureaucracy who had witnessed the period of the
decadence of Ottoman Empire. He worked as a chief clerk at the Duyûn-ı
Umumiye in Tekırdag, Mürefte. As also being a sheikh in the HalvetiJerrahi
Order, he was a Sufi poet prefered the traditional literary form
against the modernization in his period. In this article, we aimed to study
about his Dîvân that is written as a single copy to be a souvenir for his
lovers and dervishes. Beside this, his opinions, literarcy and the forms,
themes of his poems are also analysed.
