Evaluation of the effects of rapid urban change in natural habitats: Example of Bağlıca and Yapracık neighborhood in Ankara province
Abstract
In this study, the habitats where rapid urbanization was experienced in Baglica and Yapracık neighborhoods in Ankara province was observed and it was determined that developing areas were established in such areas as fertile agricultural lands, forest fragments, free fields, transition habitats, settlement habitats. The objective of this study is to observe the natural habitat groups in these areas, to determine the impact of urbanization on habitats, to take measures for the protection of natural areas as a result of observation, and to submit proposals. Bağlıca, on the periphery of the city and Yapracik, where important agricultural areas exist, are selected as research areas in Ankara.
