Türkiye’de İller Bazında Yabancı Turist Akımının Belirleyicileri

Year 2015, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 107 - 122, 01.08.2015

Abstract

The Determinants of Foreign Tourist Inflows to Turkish Cities

Year 2015, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 107 - 122, 01.08.2015

Abstract

The main purposes of this study are; analyzing empirically the determinants of foreign tourist arrivals in Turkish cities during 2000 – 2013 period and developing some policy implications by following those empirical results. In this context, the contributions of this study are twofold. Firstly, the most recent data are used for the empirical analysis. Secondly, to the best of our knowledge, the most comprehensive spatial econometric analysis is conducted in this research area. Consequently, in this study, after a brief introduction, tourism sector and its economic impacts are described in detail. Then panel data analysis and spatial econometric methods are explained. After the empirical literature section, data set, variables and econometric model used in the empirical analysis are defined. And lastly, a brief conclusion in that empirical evidences are summarized and some policy implications are developed, is given.
