The Evaluation of the Factors Affecting the Selection of the Pharmacy Facility Locations with the WINGS and DEMATEL Methods of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Techniques

Abstract

It is of vital importance to determine various criteria that are effective in the selection of the facility location of the enterprises and to examine them carefully. Businesses that do not correctly ascertain the place of establishment experience profit losses and face the risk of closure as a result of unavoidable failures in the long term. In this study, twelve effective criteria in the establishment location of pharmaceutical businesses were determined by experts which comprised of pharmacists and business specialists. The determined criteria were evaluated in terms of mutual importance and effect-relationship in line with the opinions of twenty one pharmacists. DEMATEL, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making techniques, and WINGS, a new method derived from DEMATEL, were applied and according to the author's knowledge, it is the first study in the literature to investigate the criteria for choosing a pharmacy location.

Eczane Kuruluş Yeri Seçimini Etkileyen Faktörlerin Çok Kriterli Karar Verme Tekniklerinden WINGS ve DEMATEL Yöntemleriyle Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

İşletmelerin kuruluş yerinin seçiminde rol oynayan birçok kriterin gerektiği şekilde saptanması ve bunların dikkatle incelenmesi hayati öneme sahiptir. Kuruluş yerini doğru bir şekilde belirlemeyen işletmeler, kâr kayıpları yaşamakta, uzun vadede önlenemez zararlar sonucunda kapanma riskiyle karşı karşıya kalmaktadırlar. Bu çalışmada eczane işletmelerinin kuruluş yeri seçiminde etkili 12 kriter, eczacılar ve işletmecilerden oluşan uzmanlar tarafından belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen kriterler, 21 eczacının görüşü doğrultusunda karşılıklı olarak önem ve etki-ilişki yönünden değerlendirilmiştir. Çok kriterli karar verme tekniklerinden biri olan DEMATEL, DEMATEL’den türetilen ve yeni bir yöntem olan WINGS’in kullanılmasının yanı sıra, yazar bilgisine göre literatürde eczane yerinin seçimindeki kriterlerin incelenmesi konusunda yapılan ilk çalışmadır.
