Process Capability Analysis In Reducing The Calorific Value Variation Of Coal
Abstract
In this study, the causes of variation in monthly production costs in a power plant have been investigated and a solution is proposed. It is determined that the most important cause is the variation of coal calorific values which is feeding to boiler. For this aim, Cp,and Cpk coefficients have been calculated to determine the suitability of coal calorific values. An additional coal enrichment plant has been proposed to decrease the variation and a model is constructed to indicate whether this investment is effective or not. Consequently, it is determined that this new investment has decreased both coal calorific variation and costs.
