Year 2018, , 65 - 77, 11.02.2018
https://doi.org/10.25287/ohuiibf.338750

Abstract

The relationship between firm level
productivity and exports was examined by taking into consideration the data for
the period of 2008-2016 of 98 firms quoted on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. In
accordance with the theorem, it was researched whether the firms’ exports
affect the change in the productivity. In the model formed for this purpose,
the labor productivity was used as the dependent variable, whereas the export
was used as the explanatory variable. Fixed effects panel data method was used
in this study. According to the results obtained, export affects positively the
change in productivity of firms. Apart from export affecting productivity in
the research,
firm
size as a control variable and crisis dummy was used to represent environmental
factors
. The change in the export level and the productivity
was also tested.

Verimlilik ve İhracat İlişkisi: Borsa İstanbul’da İşlem Gören Firmalar Üzerine Bir Araştırma (2008-2016)

Year 2018, , 65 - 77, 11.02.2018

Abstract

Firma düzeyinde verimlilik ile ihracat
arasındaki ilişki, borsa İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren 98 firmanın 2008-2016
dönemi verileri ele alınarak incelenmiştir. Teoriye uygun olarak firmanın
ihracat yapıp yapmamasının verimlilikteki değişmeyi etkileyip etkilemediği
araştırılmıştır. Bunun için oluşturulan modelde işgücü verimliliği, bağımlı
değişken olarak kullanılmıştır. Açıklayıcı değişken olarak da ihracat
kullanılmıştır.  Araştırmada sabit
etkiler panel veri yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın bulgularına göre
firmaların ihracat yapması firmanın verimliliğindeki değişmeyi pozitif yönde
etkilemektedir.
