Renewable energy is getting more and more important
every day due to the safety concerns of traditional energy sources and their
environmental impacts. Even so, even countries with fossil resources are
investing in renewable energy sources in order to sustain their current
economic status in the coming years. Undoubtedly, these investments have an
impact on the economic growth performances of the countries. In this study, the
relationship between renewable energy production (YEN) and economic growth
(GSYH) in Turkey has been questioned by Johansen Cointegration test and VECM
causation. As a result, it has been reported that economic growth is the long-term
cause of renewable energy production and that these two variables are
cointegrated.
