Role of Economic Policies in Developments of China and India

Abstract

China and India began to implement economic reforms during the last quarter of the 20th century and their achieved fast economic developments and this made them one of the few influential powers in world politics and economics, while they were considered to be poor and undeveloped third world countries during the Cold War period. They has been emerged as rival powers to America and Europe by fast growing economies, increasing middle class by millions in number, industry, science and technological developments. In this paper, first of all analyzed how different economic policies and models played crucial role in developments of China and India. After that, it evaluated the effects of economic policies and strategies in developments of national economy by comparison pre and post reform experience of China and India. Last not but list, the factors which determined widening the gap of development performance between two countries were deliberated.

İktisat Politikalarının Çin ve Hindistan’ın Kalkınmasındaki Etkileri

Abstract

Soğuk Savaş döneminde az gelişmiş üçüncü dünya statüsünde olan Çin ve Hindistan 20 yüzyılın son çeyreğinde art arda ekonomik reform politikalarını hayata geçirmeye başlamış, hızlı büyüme gerçekleştirerek günümüzde dünya ekonomisi ve siyasetine yön verebilecek büyük güç statüsüne yükselmiştir. Oldukça hızlı büyümekte olan ekonomisi, gittikçe artmakta olan milyonlarca orta sınıfı, sanayi, bilgi ve teknolojisiyle Amerika ve Avrupa gibi gelişmiş ülkelere rakip olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada öncelikle, Çin ve Hindistan’ın takip ettiği farklı ekonomik model ve politikalarının ülkelerinin gelişmesini nasıl etkilediği incelenmiştir. Reform öncesi ve sonrasındaki gelişmeleri karşılaştırılarak iktisat politikaları ve takip ettiği stratejilerin ülkenin ekonomik kalkınmasındaki önemi tartışılmıştır. Son olarak iki ülke arasındaki farklı gelişme performansına sebep olan unsurlar hakkında değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
