ERKEN PİYANO EĞİTİMİNDE KODALY YAKLAŞIMININ UYGULANABİLİRLİĞİ İLE İLGİLİ PİYANO EĞİTMENLERİNİN GÖRÜŞLERİ: KUZEY KIBRIS ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Araştırmada, Kodály yaklaşımı ile temellendirilmiş başlangıç seviyesi piyano eğitimi için tasarlanan etkinliklerin, piyano eğitimcileri tarafından değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nitel bir araştırma olup, durum çalışması desenlerinden iç içe geçmiş tek durum deseni kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu ise amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden, ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiş olup, Kuzey Kıbrıs’ta piyano eğitimi veren 21 piyano eğitmenine ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak piyano eğitmenlerinin başlangıç seviyesinde kullandıkları piyano başlangıç metotlarının belirlenmesi ve tasarlanan etkinliklerin değerlendirilmesi için 2 ayrı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen veriler betimsel ve içerik analizi yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; piyano eğitmenleri, Kodály yaklaşımı ile tasarlanan başlangıç seviyesi piyano etkinliklerini uygulanabilir bulmuşlardır. Bunun yanı sıra piyano eğitmenleri, tasarlanan etkinliklerin öğrencilere piyano çalma becerisi yanında müziksel işitme-okuma becerilerini de kazandıracağını, materyaller sayesinde etkinliklere aktif katılım sağlayarak kalıcı bilgi elde edebileceklerini ve kültürlerine ait şarkıların motiflerini çalarak derse ilgili bir şekilde katılabileceklerini belirtmişlerdir.

PIANO INSTRUCTORS' OPINIONS ON THE APPLICABILITY OF KODALY APPROACH IN EARLY PIANO EDUCATION: NORTH CYPRUS EXAMPLE

Abstract

In the study, it was aimed to evaluate the activities which were designed for beginner level piano education based on the Kodály approach by piano educators. The research is a qualitative research and was carried out using a single case design, one of the case study designs. The study group of the research was determined by using the criterion sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods, and 21 piano instructors who gave piano education in Northern Cyprus were reached. As a data collection tools, two different structured interview forms were created to determine the piano beginner methods used by piano instructors at the beginner level and to evaluate the designed activities. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive and content analysis methods. As a result of the research; piano instructors found the beginner piano activities designed with the Kodály approach feasible. In addition to this, piano instructors stated that the activities will provide students with the ability to play the piano as well as musical hearing-reading skills, that they can gain permanent knowledge by actively participating in the activities with the materials, and that they can participate in the lesson in a relevant way by playing the motifs of the songs of their culture.
