The Effect of Potassium Foliar Fertilizer Application on Yield and Yield Components in Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

Abstract

The effect of potassium foliar fertilizer applications on yield and yield components of NC-7 peanut variety grown as a main crop in Çukurova was investigated. For this purpose, a field trial was established in 2000 and 2001 for 2 years. Potassium foliar fertilizer (Agripotas) was sprayed at a dose of 300 ml/da at the beginning of flowering, after flowering and at the beginning of flowering + after flowering stages as two separate applications. Accordingly, kernel ratio of NC-7 peanut variety was found to be 55.20 - 70.80%, 100 seed weight 79.22 - 105.33 g, pod yield 2580 - 5470 kg/ha. According to these results, it can be said that the use of K element in peanuts as foliar fertilizer in different growth stages does not affect the yield and yield components. However, positive effects of K foliar fertilization can be seen in some extreme cases. We are of the opinion that it is difficult to meet the needs of the plant by applying K as foliar fertilizer under normal conditions, but it would be more appropriate to apply it in the soil that plant can be easily taken up by the roots.

Yerfıstığında (Arachis hypogaea L.) Potasyum Yaprak Gübresi Uygulamasının Verim ve Verim Bileşenleri Üzerine Etkisi

Öz

Çukurova’da birinci ürün olarak yetiştirilen NC-7 yerfıstığı çeşidinde potasyum yaprak gübresi uygulamasının verim bileşenleri ve verime etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 2000-2001 yıllarında 2 yıl süre ile tarla denemesi kurulmuştur. Potasyum yaprak gübresi (Agripotas) 300 ml/da/20 lt su dozunda, çiçeklenme başlangıcı, çiçeklenme sonrası ve çiçeklenme başlangıcı + çiçeklenme sonrası olmak üzere üç farklı zamanda yapraktan püskürtülerek verilmiştir. Buna göre NC-7 yerfıstığı çeşidinde tohum oranı % 55.20 - 70.80, 100 tohum ağırlığı 79.22 - 105.33 g, meyve verimi 258 - 547 kg/da arasında bulunmuştur. Bu sonuçlara göre yerfıstığında potasyum elementinin farklı gelişme dönemlerinde yaprak gübresi olarak verilmesinin verim ve verim bileşenleri üzerine etkili olmadığı söylenebilir. Ancak potasyum yaprak gübrelemesinin bazı ekstrem durumlarda olumlu etkileri görülebilir. Bitkiler için makro elementlerden olan K2O gübre ihtiyacının normal koşullarda yaprak gübresi şeklinde uygulanarak bitki ihtiyacının karşılanmasının zor olduğu, ancak bitkinin kökten alabileceği formda topraktan verilmesinin daha uygun olacağı kanaati oluşmuştur.
