Rahmioğlu Quarter Mosque Built with Cantı Technique in Alagömlek Village in Kavak, Samsun
Abstract
Samsun has been understood that it is a very rich region in terms of wooden mosque through publications increased in number in recent years. A great majority of mosques belong to the Republican period while some of these mosques belong to Seljuk, Emirates and Ottoman periods. Rahmioğlu Mosque which hasn’t been subject to any publication yet was built during the Ottoman period. The mentioned mosque which has been moved from its location for a few times and its plan has been changed, is roughly similar to the mosques of the Republic period. In this study, we will explain Rahmioğlu Mosque’s place among çantı mosques by introducing it.
