Jewish People in Ali Rasadh’s “Ancient History”

Abstract

In this article we have simplifid with some notes a part of Ali Rasad’s “Tarih-i Kadim” which is called “A Short Jewish History According to the Bible”. In this section Ali Rasad gives information about coming of Jews to Palestine with the Prophet Abraham; their emigration and establishment in Egypt in the time of the Prophet Joseph; their exodus from Egypt under the leadership of the Prophet Moses; and the successes of some Jewsih tribes in their fighting with non-Jewish in the time of Joshua who became the leader of Jewish after the death of Moses. In addition to these informations, the author also deals with the lifes of Jewish under twelve tribes in Palestine; the period of Judges and Kings; their division into two states scuh as Israel and Judah after the death of Solomon; their exile to Babil; and the various activities of Jewish Prophets in time of exile.

Ali Reşad’ın Tarih-i Kadiminde İbraniler

Abstract

Ali Reşad’ın Tarih-i Kadim adlı eserinin sadeleştirmesini yaptığımız bu bölümün ana konusu; Kitab-ı Mukaddes’e göre kısa Yahudi Tarihi’dir. Bu bölümde İbranilerin Hz. İbrahim’le birlikte Filistin’e gelişleri, Hz. Yusuf zamanında Mısır’a giderek orada uzun süre kalışları, Hz. Musa önderliğinde Mısır’dan çıkışları, Hz. Musa’nın vefatından sonra başa geçen Yeşu zamanında Filistin’de yaşayan bazı kavimlerle yaptıkları savaşlarda sağladıkları başarılar anlatılmaktadır. Ayrıca Filistin’de on iki boy halinde yaşadıkları, Hakimler Devri, Krallar Devri, Hz. Süleyman’ın vefatından sonra krallığın İsrail ve Yahuda adları ile ikiye bölünüşü, Babil esareti, sürgün sırasında ve sürgünden sonra Yahudi peygamberlerinin faaliyetleri, ibadet ve mabetleri gibi konular ele alınmaktadır.
