Abstract

Kutadgu Bilig was written by Yusuf Has Hâcib in the 11th century and is considered one of the most important works in Turkish intellectual history. Written in Turkestan during the Karakhanid period, it explores both moral and political values in depth. From the Perspective of Turkish Intellectual History: Kutadgu Bilig, Fatih M. Şeker evaluates the work as a multifaceted text that sheds light on the formation of Turkish-Islamic thought. According to Şeker, Kutadgu Bilig is not just a political treatise or a didactic text but a work that shaped the integration of Islam into Turkish intellectual tradition. He argues that its significance extends beyond politics and literature, emphasizing its role in the intellectual acceptance of Islam among the Turks. He also highlights the importance of analyzing the work with a methodological approach that considers its historical context to better understand its connections across different disciplines.

Abstract

Kutadgu Bilig, 11. yüzyılda Yusuf Has Hâcib tarafından yazılmış ve Türk düşünce tarihinin en önemli eserlerinden biri olarak kabul edilen bir siyasetnamedir. Karahanlılar döneminde Türkistan’da kaleme alınan bu eser hem ahlaki hem de siyasi değerler üzerine derinlemesine düşünceler içerir. Fatih M. Şeker, Türk Düşünce Tarihi Açısından Kutadgu Bilig adlı eserinde Kutadgu Bilig’i Türk-İslam düşüncesinin oluşum sürecine ışık tutan çok yönlü bir eser olarak değerlendirmektedir. Şeker’e göre Kutadgu Bilig, sadece bir siyasetname ya da didaktik bir metin değil, İslam’ın Türk düşünce geleneğine entegrasyonunu şekillendiren bir metindir. Bu nedenle yazar, Kutadgu Bilig’in Türk-İslam düşüncesindeki yerinin yalnızca siyaset veya edebiyat bağlamında değil, İslam’ın Türkler arasındaki kabul sürecinin entelektüel boyutu çerçevesinde de ele alınması gerektiğini vurgulamaktadır. Ayrıca, eserin tarihî bağlamı gözetilerek metodolojik bir yaklaşımla incelenmesinin, farklı disiplinler arasındaki ilişkileri anlamada önemli olduğunu ifade etmektedir.
