In this study, the cholinesterase levels in the serum of sprayrien and other agriculture workers "who pick up tobacco leaves) were measured,.
In our observations we found out that as the working years increased, the serum cholinesterase levels decreased sigrrificdntly in spraymen but not in other workers.
In addition we observed that these agriculture workers didn't know anything about insectisid toxicity and they didn't take adequate safety precautions.

ÖZET
Pestisidler dahil olmak üzere çeşitli kimyasal maddelerin kullanımındaki artış toplumun etkilenme riskini artırmaktadır. Özellikle ilaçlama yapan kişiler bu riske daha fazla maruz kaldıkları için korunma tedbiri almaları gerekmektedir.
Çalışmamızda ilaçlama yapan ve tütün toplayan kişilerin serum kolinesteraz düzeyi ölçüldü ve ilaçlama yapan kişilerin çalışma süreleri uzadıkça serum kol i n e s t e r a z düzeyinin düşme gösterdiği, tütün toplayanlarda ise çalışma süresi ile kolinesteraz düzeyi arasında böyle bir ilişki olmadığı bulunmuştur. Ayrıca bu kişile¬rin ilaçlama sırasında yeteri kadar korunmadıkları ve maruz kaldıkları riskin bilincinde olmadıkları saptanmıştır.
