Kadın Sporcularda Menstrual Evrelerin Fonksiyonel Denge Performansına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada kadın sporcularda menstrual evrelerin fonksiyonel denge performansına etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya yaş aralığı 18-25 olan toplam 22 sağlıklı kadın sporcu katılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan kadınların son iki aya ait adet döngülerine ilişkin bilgiler kişisel bilgi formu kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların denge performanslarını belirlemek için “Side Hop Test”, “Figure of 8 Test” ve “Modified Star Excursion Balance Test” kullanılmıştır. Veri analiz sürecinde SPSS 25.0 programında tanımlayıcı istatistiklerden, Friedman testi ve Dunn testlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda kadın sporcuların menstrual dönemlerine göre Modified Star Excursion Balance Test sonuçlarının anlamlı farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiştir. Buna karşılık Side Hop Test ile Figure of 8 Test sonuçlarında menstrual dönemlere göre anlamlı farklılık (p<0,05) olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, dinamik alt ekstremite kuvvetinin ön planda olduğu denge hareketlerinin menstrual evrelerden etkilendiği söylenebilir.

The Effect of Menstrual Phases on Functional Balance Performance in Female Athletes

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of menstrual phases on functional balance performance in female athletes. A total of 22 healthy female athletes aged 18-25 participated in the study. Information regarding the menstrual cycles of the women participating in the study for the last two months was determined with a personal information form. “Side Hop Test”, “Figure of 8 Test” and “Modified Star Excursion Balance Test” were used to determine the balance performance of the participants. In the data analysis process of the study, descriptive statistics, Friedman test and Dunn tests were used in SPSS 25.0 program. At the end of the study, it was determined that the Modified Star Excursion Balance Test results of female athletes did not show any significant difference according to their menstrual periods. On the other hand, it was determined that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) in the Side Hop Test and Figure of 8 Test results according to menstrual periods. As a result, it can be said that balance movements in which dynamic lower extremity strength is at the forefront are affected by menstrual stages.

Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Non-Interventional Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Mardin Artuklu University with decision number 2024/6-29 dated 11.06.2024.
