The Transformation of the National-State on the Basis of Globalization

Globalization is a process that emerges as from 1970s on the basis of its historical roots and that involves the developments in all subsystems of society. Many paradoxical, holistic and interactive processes, such as economic integration, cultural heterogeneity, political dependence, and so on, run in the context of globalization. This essential feature of globalization affects national-state, as well. National-state transforms qualitatively and functionally in the process of globalization. National-state that is formed by transnational practices is commanded by global capitalism.

Küreselleşme; tarihsel kökenleri üzerinde 1970’lerle birlikte oluşmaya başlayan ve toplumun tüm alt sistemlerinde meydana gelen olayları içeren bir olgudur. Ekonomik bütünleşme, kültürel çeşitlenme, politik bağımlılaşma gibi pek çok paradoksal, bütünsel ve etkileşimli süreç, küreselleşmenin özünde yer almaktadır. Bu özsel temelin etki alanlarından biri de, ulus-devlettir. Ulus-devlet, küreselleşme sürecinde niteliksel ve işlevsel bir dönüşümden geçmektedir. Ulus-ötesi uygulamaların biçimlendirdiği ulus-devlet, küresel kapitalizmin güdümünde kalmaktadır.
