The Effects of Emotional Intelligence, Life Satisfaction and Depression according to Gender and Grade on University Students
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study that if the emotional intelligence levels and life satisfactions predict the depressive symptoms significantly and if the mentioned variables emotional intelligence, life satisfaction and depression differ according to grade and gender or not. To all levels of students in a private university, to test the emotional intelligence levels Emotional Intelligence Evaluating Scale, to test the life satisfaction levels Life Satisfaction Scale, to test the depressive symptom levels Beck Depression Scale have been applied. In the research it’s been ascertained that emotional intelligence, life satisfaction and depression variables were related and that emotional intelligence and life satisfaction could explain depression remarkabl. It has been seen that gender, also has been effective on life satisfaction, emotional intelligence and depression remarkably and grade hasn’t had remarkably discriminator effect on mentioned variables.
