A Study about The Validity and Reliability of The Turkish Version of Cyber Dating Abuse Questionnaire
Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the
reliability and validity of the Cyber Dating Abuse Questionnaire, which
examines cyber dating abuse in two dimensions as direct aggression and
monitoring / control. The psychometric analysis of the scale was performed on
the data set collected from 919 people aged between 18 and 30. In order to test
the validity of the scale, factor structure was examined. As a result of the
analysis, it was found that the Cyber Dating Abuse Questionnaire has a
sufficient validity for the sample consisting of Turkish young adults. In order
to test the reliability of the scale, internal consistency coefficient,
item-total correlation coefficient, test-half reliability coefficient and
test-retest reliability coefficients were calculated. Consequently, it was seen
that Cyber Dating Abuse Questionnaire has the reliability and validity to
measure the use of new technologies with the aim of abuse and violence in
romantic relationships of the sample consisting of Turkish young adults.
