OPUS- Publication Ethics & Publishing Principles

  • Acceptance processes and publication processes in OPUS form the basis for the development and distribution of information in an impartial and respectful manner. The processes applied in this direction reflect the quality of the work of the authors and institutions supporting the writers. Effective studies are studies that embody and support the scientific method. Effective work is the work that embodies and supports the scientific method. It is important that all stakeholders (writers, readers and researchers, publishers, referees, and editors) in the process follow the standards for ethical principles.
  • In the scope of OPUS publishing ethics, all stakeholders are expected to carry out the following ethical responsibilities. The following ethical duties and responsibilities have been set up as open access, taking into account guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors' Ethical Responsibilities 

The author (s) who submitted the article to OPUS are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:


  • The authors are required to make a complete and accurate presentation and / or quote the authors in order to ensure that the works they send are unique, the authors use other works or use other works.
  • All work submitted for publication should be clarified if there is a conflict of interest and related.
  • The author (s) may request raw data on their articles within the framework of evaluation processes, in which case the author(s) should be prepared to submit the expected data and information to the editors' board and the scientific committee.
  • The author (s) must have a document showing that the data used have fulfilled the authorization to use the research/analysis or the authorization procedure for the trial being tested.
  • The author (s) has an obligation to cooperate with the editor in informing, correcting or withdrawing the journal editor or publisher if he or she notices a mistake or error related to the published early appearance or evaluation stage.
  • Authors can not have their work in the application process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started following the completion of the previous application. Published work in another journal can not be sent to theOPUS-International Journal of Society Researches.
  • Changing the author responsibilities of a worker who has started the evaluation process (such as adding authors, changing author order, authoring, etc.) can not be offered.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editor and Field Editors


The editor and field editors of OPUS will provide the following ethical duties and responsibilities based on the guidelines of theCOPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors published by theCommittee on Publication Ethics (COPE) should have:

 

General tasks and responsibilities

Editors are responsible for every publication posted on OPUS. In the context of this responsibility, the editors have the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Efforts to meet the information needs of readers and authors,
  • Constantly developing the journal,
  • Conducting processes to improve the quality of work published in the journal,
  • Supporting the freedom of thought,
  • Providing integrity in academic terms,
  • Continuing business processes without compromising on intellectual property rights and ethical standards,
  • Display clarity and transparency in terms of publication in matters requiring correction and clarification.

 

Relations with the reader

  • Editors; should take into consideration all readers, researchers and practitioners’ the knowledge, skills and experience they need.
  • Care should be taken to ensure that the published work contributes to the reader, researcher, practitioner and scientific field and is of original character.
  • In addition, editors are obliged to take account of feedback from readers, researchers and practitioners and to provide descriptive and informative feedback.

 

Relations with Authors

The duties and responsibilities of the editors towards the authors are as follows:

  • Editors should make positive or negative decisions based on the importance of their work, their original value, their validity, the clarity of the narrative and the aims and objectives of the journal.
  • As long as the studies appropriate for the scope of the publication are not serious problems, they should be taken at the preliminary evaluation stage.
  • Editors should not ignore the referee's suggestions on the positive side unless there is a serious problem with the work. 
  • New editors should change the decisions made by previous editors (s) for their work unless there is a serious problem.
  • The "Blind Review and Evaluation Process" must be published and the editors must avoid any deviations that may occur in the identified processes.
  • Editors should publish a "Writer's Guide" which contains in detail all the topics expected by the authors. These guides should be updated at specific time intervals.
  • Authors should be informed and informed in a clear and informed way.

 

Relations with Reviewers

The duties and responsibilities of the editors against the referees are as follows:

  • Determine referees in accordance with the topic of the study.
  • It is obliged to provide information and guidance that referees will need in the evaluation phase.
  • Editors should consider whether there is a conflict of interest between the authors and the referees.
  • Editors should keep the referee's credentials confidential in the context of blind refereeing.
  • Editors should encourage referees to evaluate impartial, scientific and objective work.
  • Editors should evaluate referees with timely feedback and performance.
  • Editors should determine policies and practices that enhance referees' performance.
  • Editors should take steps to update the referee pool continuously and dynamically.
  • Editors should avoid imprudent and non-scientific evaluations.
  • Editors should take steps to ensure that the pool of referees is formed in a wide range.

 

Relations with International Advisory Board  

  • The editor should ensure that all members of the advisory committee advance the processes in accordance with publication policies and guidelines.
  • The editor should inform members of advisory board about broadcast policies and inform them of their progress.
  • The editor should ensure that the members of the advisory board evaluate their work independently and independently.
  • The editor should be able to contribute and appropriately determine the members of the new advisory board.
  • The editor should send appropriate studies for the expertise of the advisory board members for evaluation.
  • The editor should interact regularly with the advisory board.
  • The editor should organize regular meetings with the advisory committee for the development of publishing policies and journal.

 

Relations with owner and publisher

  • The relationship between editors (chief editor and chapter editors) and the publisher is based on the editorial independence principle. In accordance with the written agreement between the editors and the publisher, all the decisions of the editors are independent of the publisher and the journal owner.

 

Editorial and blind referee processes

  • Editors; it is obliged to implement the policies of "Blind Referee and Evaluation Process" in the journal publication policies. In this context, the editors ensure that each work is completed in a fair, impartial and timely manner.

 
Quality assurance

 

  • Editors; is responsible for publishing every article published in thejournal in accordance with journal publication policies and international standards.

 

Protection of personal data

  • Editors; and to ensure the protection of personal data relating to the subjects or images included in the assessed work. It is the duty of the individuals employed in the work to refuse to work as long as they are not certified. Also editors; authors, referees and readers.

 


Ethics committee, human and animal rights

  • Editors; and to ensure the protection of human and animal rights in assessed work. The approval of the ethics committee on the subjects used in the study is the responsibility of refusing to work when there are no permits related to the experimental investigations.

 


Possible misconduct and misconduct precaution

  • Editors; should take measures against possible abuse and misconduct. In addition to conducting a rigorous and objective investigation on the identification and evaluation of complaints regarding this situation, the responsibilities of the editor share the findings related to the subject.

 
Providing academic publication integrity

  • Editors should ensure that judgments involving errors, inconsistencies, or misleading appear in the works are quickly corrected.

 

Safeguarding of intellectual property rights

  • In addition, the editors are obliged to take the necessary precautions to ensure that the content of all published articles does not infringe the intellectual property rights of other publications.

 
Constructivism and openness to discussion

  • Editors; It should take account of persuasive criticism of the works published in the journal and display a constructive attitude towards these criticisms.
  • Define the right to reply to the authors of the works being criticized.
  • Should not ignore or exclude studies involving negative consequences.

 

Complaints

  • Editors; should response writers, referees, or readers to respond in an enlightening and descriptive manner by carefully reviewing the complaints.

 
Political and commercial concerns

  • The journal owner, publisher, and no other political or commercial element will affect the independent decisions of the editors.

 

Conflicts of interest

  • Editors (s) guarantee authors (s), referees and other editors, ensuring that the work completes the publication process independently and impartially.

Referees' Ethical Responsibilities


The evaluation of all studies with "Blind Referee" directly affects the quality of the publication. This process provides trust with objective and independent evaluation of the publication. The evaluation process of the OPUS-International Journal of Society Researches is carried out with the principle of double-blind arbitration. Referees can not communicate directly with the authors, and reviews and comments are transmitted through the journal management system. In this process, evaluation forms and referee comments on full texts are sent to the author (s) through the editor. In this context, it is expected that the referees who evaluate the OPUS-International Journal of Society Researches have the following ethical responsibilities:

  • Referees should only accept work evaluation related to the field of specialization.
  • Referees must evaluate impartiality and confidentiality.
  • Referees should inform the editor of the journal, refusing to review the work if they think that they are facing a conflict of interest during the evaluation process.
  • Referees must dispose of the work they have examined under the confidentiality principle after the evaluation process. Only the final versions of the studies can be used after publication.
  • Referees should objectively evaluate only the content of the work. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns should not allow it to influence the evaluation.
  • Referees should make a constructive and polite duel. He should not make insulting personal comments that include hostility, slander and insults.
  • Referees must carry out the work they agree to evaluate on time and above ethical responsibilities.

Publisher  Ethical Responsibilities


The OPUS publisher ADAMOR Community Research Center and the OPUS Editorial Board act with the following ethical responsibilities regarding OPUS:

  • Editors are responsible for all processes of the work submitted to the OPUS-International Journal of Society Researches.Regardless of economic or political gains in this framework, decision makers are Chief Editor and Section Editor.
  • Commit independent editorial decisions.
  • The OPUS-International Journal of Society Researches publishes every article published by the Journal and protects the copyrights and copyright of every published copy of the obligation to save.
  • Responsible for taking all kinds of scientific abuses, references, and plagiarism related to the editors.
