Abstract

The Ottoman Empire was a state that ruled over a wide geography spanning three continents and had a mosaic of different languages, religions and nations. Therefore, in order to understand the Ottoman culture and civilization, the connection of this mighty civilization with language and literature, which includes many features of human and life, should be examined with a holistic and multi-faceted perspective.
The editors of the work titled "Language and Literature in the Ottoman Empire" prepared by OSAMER are Bayram Ali Kaya and Feyza Betül Kaya. The miniature example on the cover of the book, which has a stylish design, is in harmony with the title of the work. The work, which consists of 208 pages and is structured as a multi-author, includes Presentation, Language and Literature in the Ottoman Empire, and an index with 13 chapters.

Abstract

Osmanlı, üç kıtaya yayılan geniş bir coğrafyada hüküm sürmüş, birbirinden farklı dil, din ve millet mozaiğine sahip bir devlettir. Dolayısıyla Osmanlı kültür ve uygarlığının anlaşılabilmesi için insana ve yaşama dair pek çok hususiyeti bünyesinde barındıran bu kudretli medeniyetin dil ve edebiyatla olan bağlantısının bütüncül bakışla ve çok yönlü olarak incelenmesi gerekir.
OSAMER tarafından hazırlanan “Osmanlı’da Dil ve Edebiyat” isimli eserin editörleri Bayram Ali Kaya ve Feyza Betül Kaya’dır. Şık bir tasarımına sahip olan kitap kapağında yer alan minyatür örneği, eserin başlığı ile uyum içerisindedir. 208 sayfadan oluşan çok yazarlı olarak yapılandırılan eserde Sunuş, Osmanlı’da Dil ve Edebiyat’a Medhal, 13 bölüm ile bir dizin yer almaktadır.
