Evalulation Of Fatigue and Work Satisfaction of İntensive Care Nursery Summary

Abstract

Fatigue is an insidious process that causes biyopsicosocial effects by time; job satisfaction is an emotional reaction that improves againts to work experiences. Especially work conditions and intense pace of intensive care nurseries’ affects job satisfaction and burnout level. Aim of this study was to detect job satisfaction and fatigue level of intensive care unit nurses in Sakarya. Data was collected after taking institution’s permision between 01.04.2013-20.05.2013. sampe group consist of 54 nurses working at intensive care unit at two hospital. Non-parametic and parametic tests were performed to evaluate data. Nurses younger than 25 years old, with higher graduate levels and occupation period less than 5 years had higher fatigue levels. On the other hand nurses at the end of their carrier, close to pension had higher job satisfaction levels. Nurses became intensitive against patients and using antidepressant drugs had higher fatigue and lower job satisfactio levels. Younger nurses have higher fatigue levels and its correlated with education levels. No relationship between gender, marital status and fatigue and job satisfaction was detected. More studies in this field and planning of restorations are necessary.
