Abstract

Model uyum indeksleri; RMSEA=0.075, CFI=0.92, TLI=0.94, NFI=0.93, GFI=0.92, AGFI=0.90’dır. Ölçeğin Cronbach alfa değeri 0.83 ve ICC değeri 0.93’tür. HÖD-KAYTÖ ile Psikolojik güçlendirme arasındaki ilişki pozitif yöndedir (r=0.75, p<0.001).
Sonuç: Türkçeye uyarlanan ölçek pratikte uygulanacak yeterli psikometrik özelliklere sahiptir. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinde delici ve kesici alet yaralanmalarının belirlenmesine önemli katkı sağlayacak olan HÖD-KAYTÖ’nün uygulanması önerilir.

The Adaptation of the Student Nurse Needlestick Injury Prediction Scale into Turkish: A Validity and Reliability Study

Year 2023, , 145 - 155, 17.04.2023
https://doi.org/10.38108/ouhcd.1111540

Abstract

Objective: It is aimed in this study to confirm the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the student nurse needlestick injury prediction scale (SNNIP).
Methods: The population of this methodological study includes 398 students at the 3rd and 4th grades. 180 students were determined as the sample by taking 10 times of the 18 items in the scale. The research was conducted in the Nursing Department, Faculty of Health Sciences, Sivas Cumhuriyet University between the dates of February-March 2021. The data were collected online through “Google Forms” by Student Information Form, SNNIP and Psychological Empowerment Scale (PES) between the dates of February-March 2021. For the determination of the content validity of the items to be included in the scale, Content Validity Rate and Content Validity Index was calculated and transformed to quantitative data. The construct validity of the scale was measured by factor analysis, internal consistency by Cronbach alpha coefficient and test-retest reliability by Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). The linear correlation between SNNIP and Psychological Strengthening was measured by Pearson’s correlation coefficient.
Results: The Confirmatory Factor Analysis CMIN/DF value of the scale is 2.012, and the scale is fit. Model fit indices are RMSEA=0.075, CFI=0.92, TLI=0.94, NFI=0.93, GFI=0.92, AGFI=0.90. The Cronbach alpha value of the scale is 0.83 and ICC value is 0.93. The correlation between SNNIP and Psychological Strengthening is in a positive way (r=0.75, p<0.001).
Conclusion: The Turkish version of the scale has adequate psychometric characteristics to be practiced. It was recommended SNNIP to be applied.
