Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Flört Şiddetine İlişkin Tutumlarının ve Maruz Kalma Durumlarının Belirlenmesi: Analitik Bir Çalışma

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırma bir vakıf üniversitesinde okuyan hemşirelik bölümü öğrencilerinin flört şiddetine yönelik tutumlarının ve maruz kalma durumlarının belirlenmesi amacı ile analitik tasarımda gerçekleştirilmiştir.
Yöntem: Araştırmanın kapsamı, İstanbul'daki bir vakıf üniversitesinde 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Hemşirelik Bölümü’nde öğrenim gören öğrencileri içermektedir. Toplamda 400 öğrenci evreni oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın örneklemini, bu evrenden katılmaya istekli olan ve anket formlarını eksiksiz dolduran öğrenciler oluşturmuştur. Araştırma sürecinde 375 öğrenciden geçerli veri elde edilmiş ve evrenin %94'üne ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada, veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Flört Şiddeti Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizi için SPSS for Windows 25.0 programı kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20.85±1.63 olup en uzun süren romantik ilişki süresi 19.81±24.21 (medyan 12) ay ve şu an süren romantik ilişki süresi 8.76±13.98 (medyan 1) aydır. Katılımcıların %43.7’sinin kıskançlık nedeniyle, %13.6’sının cinsel isteklere cevap vermeme nedeniyle ve %57.9’unun istemediği şeyleri yapmak ya da istemediği şekilde davranmak nedeniyle flört ilişkilerinde tartışma yaşadığı bulunmuştur. Çalışmada Flört Şiddeti Tutum Ölçeği puan ortalaması 4.73±0.23 olup, alt boyut ve toplam puan ortalamalarının, kişisel özellikleri ve flört ilişkileri alt boyutlarının çoğunda anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği ortaya konmuştur.
Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucuna göre, hemşirelik bölümünde okuyan üniversite öğrencilerinin flört şiddetine ilişkin olumlu tutum sergiledikleri belirlenmiştir. Alt boyutlarda ise en yüksek tutum puanının fiziksel şiddet ve en düşük tutum puanının ise ekonomik şiddet boyutunda olduğu görülmüştür.

The Identification of Nursing Students Attitudes toward Dating Violence and State of Their Exposure: A Analytical Study

Abstract

Objectives: This study was conducted in an analytical design to determine the attitudes of nursing students studying at a foundation university towards dating violence and their exposure to it.
Methods: The research was conducted with 375 students studying in the Nursing Department of a foundation university in Istanbul in the 2022-2023 academic year and was completed with 94% of the population. Data collection instruments included a Personal Information Form and the Dating Violence Attitude Scale. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS for Windows 25.0 software.
Results: The mean age of the students was 20.85±1.63 years, the longest duration of romantic relationship was 19.81±24.21 (median 12) months and the current duration of romantic relationship was 8.76±13.98 (median 1) months. It was found that 43.7% of the participants experienced arguments in dating relationships due to jealousy, 13.6% due to not responding to sexual requests and 57.9% due to doing things they did not want or behaving in a way they did not want. In the study, the overall mean score of the Dating Violence Attitude Scale was 4.73±0.23 and it was revealed that the mean scores of the sub-dimensions and total scores showed significant differences in most of the sub-dimensions of personal characteristics and dating relationships.
Conclusion: The study findings indicate that university students enrolled in nursing programs exhibited favorable attitudes towards dating violence. Specifically, when examining specific aspects, the highest attitude scores were observed in relation to physical violence, while the lowest scores were associated with economic violence.
