Withdrawal of a Manuscript

As its publication policies, Journal of Special Education designates the following duties and responsibilities to its author(s) and publication committee during the withdrawal of a manuscript.

Authors

If the authors detect an error or a mistake in their manuscripts during the early release or evaluation process, they have an obligation to cooperate with the journal’s editor for withdrawal process. In order to request for withdrawal of a manuscript in review, each author must sign the Withdrawal Form, scan the originally signed form and mail it to ozeled@ankara.edu.tr.  Publication Committee examines the withdrawal request due in 15 days. Unless the publication committee approves the withdrawal of a manuscript of which the copyright is disclaimed and transferred to the Journal of Special Education, the authors cannot send their manuscripts for evaluation to other journals.

 Editors

Publication committee of Journal of Special Education has an obligation to launch an investigation if there is any doubt of copyright or plagiarism for a published manuscript or a manuscript in early release or the evaluation.

In the result of the investigation if the publication committee decides that there is a copyright or plagiarism issue in the manuscript at hand, it withdraws the review process and returns the manuscript to the authors by citing in detail the identified situations.

If the publication committee detects a copyright issue or plagiarism in a manuscript whether published or in early release, it initiates the withdrawal process and completes the notice process due in 15 days. For the manuscript in which ethical infringement is detected;

1. “Withdrawn” statement is added next to the title of the electronic version of the manuscript.

2. In the sections of Abstract and Full Tex,t the reasons for withdrawal are written, citations for evidence are given in detail, and the declaration of the affiliated institutions and organizations of the author(s) are also published.

3. The reasons for withdrawal are declared on the website of the journal.

4. After the withdrawal date, in the content list of the electronic version of the first number of the journal to be published, “Withdrawn: The Title of the Manuscript” is added, starting from the first page the reasons for withdrawal and references of the original citations are shared with public and researchers.

5. To the affiliated institutions of the author(s), the withdrawal notice is sent.

6.   The aforementioned withdrawal notice is sent to the organizations and institutions in which the journal is indexed, and to the Presidency of the National Library for the manuscript to be recorded in index systems and catalogs.  

Moreover, the publication committee might suggest to the publishers and publication committees of the author(s) who have ethically infringed withdraw or secure the validity and reliability of the articles which are published.
