Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences Journal of Special Education Journal, which has the distinction of being the first journal published in the field of special education in Turkey, came into publication in 1991 and began to be published electronically in 1992. The journal has been published as a national peer review journal since 1995. It was published in print in 1991, in both print and electronic media between 1992 and 2015, and since 2016 it has been published only via electronic media. The Journal of Special Education, which was previously published twice a year, was published three times a year in the international arena since 2014, and since 2018 it has been published four times a year, in March-June-September-December.

Our journal is indexed by ProQuest, EBSCO, TR Dizin, DOAJ and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI). Click here for detailed information. Applications have been submitted to be indexed in other indexes, particularly Scopus and SSCI, in the coming period.
