AN EXPERT APPROACH ON AUTOMATIC SOLID MODEL RECONSTRUCTION FROM 2D PROJECTIONS

Abstract

This paper examines how to automatically reconstruct three dimentions (3D) models from their orthographic two and three views and explains a new approach developed for that purpose. The approach is based on the identification of geometric features with the interpretation of 2B views, their volumetric intersections and reconstruction of solid models. A number of rules have been defined for this goal and they implemented on a prototype software with the approach of expert systems. The developed software allows determination of some features efficiently such as slot, holes, blind holes, closed prismatic holes, etc. Another contrubition of this research is to reconstruct solid models from their full section and half section views that is almost noneexistend in the releated literature.

2B GÖRÜNÜSLERDEN OTOMATİK KATI MODELLER OLUSTURMADA UZMAN BİR YAKLASIM

Abstract

Bu makale, iki ve üç görünüsle ifade edilen prizmatik parçaların otomatik üç boyut (3B) modellerini olusturma konusunu incelemekte ve bu amaçla gelistirilen bilgisayar temelli bir yaklasımı tanıtmaktadır. Bu yaklasım; 2B görünüslere ait verilerin yorumlanması ile üç boyut (3B) unsurların belirlenmesi ve bunların hacimsel kesistirilmeleri ile üç boyut (3B) modellerinin olusturulması esasına dayanmaktadır. Bu amaçla bir dizi kural tanımlanmıs ve uzman sistem kullanılarak bir bilgisayar programı gelistirilmistir. Gelistirilen bu program ile, köse cep ve kapalı kanal gibi unsurların olusturulması etkin olarak yapılabilmektedir. Çalısmadaki diger bir yenilik ise, tam ve yarım kesit görünüslerden de otomatik katı modeller elde edilmesidir.
