Çeşitli klinik örneklerden izole edilen Candida sp kökenlerinde slime faktör üretimi

Abstract

Amaç: Candida cinsi maya mantarları, klinik örneklerden kolonizasyon veya enfeksiyon etkeni olarak izole
edilebilirler. Bu çalışmada çeşitli klinik örneklerden izole edilen Candida türlerinde virülans faktörlerinden biri
olan slime üretiminin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya toplam 172 Candida suşu [137’si (%79.6) C.albicans, 14’ü (%8.1) C.parapsilosis,
8’i (%4.6) C.tropicalis, 6’sı (%3.4) C.kefyr, 3’ü (%1.7) C.glabrata, 2’si (%1.1) C.krusei, 1’i (%0.5) C.dubliniensis,
1’i (%0.5) C.famata] alınmıştır.
Bulgular: Modifi ye tüp aderans testi ile çalışılan 172 suşun 17’sinde (%9.8) slime üretimi saptanmıştır.
En yüksek slime üretim oranına C.parapsilosis suşlarında rastlanırken (%42.8), albicans dışı Candida suşlarının,
C.albicans suşlarına göre anlamlı oranda daha fazla slime ürettiği gösterilmiştir (%22.8; %6.5; p<0.05).
Sonuç: Bu çalışma, Candida sp. kökenlerinin ve slime üretimlerinin periodik yapılmasının gerekliliğini
göstermektedir.

Abstract

Aim: Candida species can be isolated from clinical samples as a colonization or an infection factor. In this
study our aim was to investigate the production of slime factor among Candida species which were yielded from
various clinical samples as a virulence factor.
Materials and methods: A total of 172 Candida species [137 (79.6%) C.albicans, 14 (8.1%) C.parapsilosis, 8
(4.6%) C.tropicalis, 6 (3.4%) C.kefyr, 3 (1.7%) C.glabrata, 2 (1.1%) C.krusei, 1 (0.5%) C.dubliniensis, 1 (0.5%)
C.famata] were studied.
Results: By using modifi ed tube adherence test, slime production was observed in 17 of 172 (9.8%) Candida
strains. The highest slime production was found among C.parapsilosis isolates (42.8%). It was also shown
that non-albicans Candida strains produced signifi cantly higher slime factor compared with C.albicans strains
(22.8%; 6.5%; p<0.05).
Conclusion: The study demonstrates that Candida sp. strains themselves and their slime productions should
be periodically controlled
