SİYASET BİLİMİ ÇALIŞMALARINDA VAKA ANALİZİ VE ELİT MÜLAKAT YÖNTEMİ

Abstract

Bu makale özellikle siyaset bilimine dair yapılan çalışmalarda bir nitel araştırma yöntemi olarak kullanılan vaka analizini incelenmekte olup, bu vaka analizi yönteminde bir veri toplama metodu olarak kullanılan elit mülakat yöntemini irdelemektedir. Nitel yöntemler ele alınan sorunun doğasını gösteren 'vaka analizlerini' ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırmaların ana araştırma sorusu ‘neden’ ve ‘nasıl’ sorularıyla ilgilidir, bu nedenle nitel veri yöntemleri daha fazla derinlik kazanır ve tutum ve davranışların ‘neden’ ve ‘nasıl’ olduğu hakkında fikir verir. İncelenen vaka için kurulmuş olan nedensel mekanizmayı keşfederken veri toplamak için kullanılan yaygın yöntemlerden birisi de elit mülakat yöntemidir. Vaka analizi ile elit mülakat yöntemi arasındaki bağlantıyı tüm detaylarıyla keşfedebilmek bu çalışmanın temel amacıdır.

CASE STUDY ANALYSİS AND ELITE INTERVIEW IN POLITICAL SCIENCE

Abstract

This article examines the case study analysis, which is used as a qualitative research method especially in studies on political science, and examines the elite interview method, which is used as a data collection method in this case analysis method. Qualitative methods reveal 'case studies' that show the nature of the problem being addressed. The main research question of studies is about 'why' and 'how', so qualitative data methods gain more depth and provide insight into the 'why' and 'how' of attitudes and behaviors. One of the common methods used to collect data while exploring the causal mechanism established for the case under investigation is the elite interview method. The main purpose of this study is to explore the connection between case analysis and elite interview method in all details.
