THE PARADOX OF LIBERTY IN NEOLIBERALISM AND SOCIAL RIGHTS
Abstract
The duality at the concepts of right and freedom has been used together in historical period. And the relation between those concepts each other shifting according to different historical and social periods. While some political streams take the rights to the front side and put aside the freedoms to behind; some can give special emphasis on freedoms. In this paper; the relation between the neoliberal conceptualization of freedom and social rights will be examined. Social rights required the active intervention and regulation of the state. In terms of neoliberal discourse, any intervention of the state is a intervention to freedoms and it damages the freedoms. Thinking of in this context neoliberal conceptualization of freedom in a conflictual relation with the social rights. For to analyse conflictual relation and the reasons behind it forming the fundamental aim of that paper
