USING QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT METHOD IN THE SUPPLIER SELECTION

Abstract

Technological advancement and its parallel high production rate contributing more growth in world economies increases global competitiveness. The growing presence of emerging customer requirements along with advances in technology and diversification causes the shortening of product life-cycle. These new trends of shortening of product life-cycle and more diverse customers requirements call for addressing them on right time, at right place, and at right price. To succeed, organizations must have to analyze and fulfill these customers’ needs in shape of providing appropriate goods and services. Organizations are depended mainly on suppliers to serve the customers with right product, in right quantity, and at right time. Therefore due to these reasons, to survive, organizations have to select appropriate suppliers for the smooth provision of products and services.Within the service business context as a solution for the selection of supplier, this study applied “Quality Function Deployment (QFD)" method, one of the methods used in the designing of product and service.

KALİTE FONKSİYON GÖÇERİMİ YÖNTEMİNİN TEDARİKÇİ SEÇİMİNDE KULLANIMI

Abstract

Gelişen teknoloji ve buna paralel artan üretim hızıyla, ekonomiler giderek büyümekte, küresel ölçekte rekabet daha da artmaktadır. Müşteri isteklerinin gelişen teknolojiye paralel olarak gün geçtikçe artması ve çeşitlenmesi, ürün yaşam eğrilerinin de giderek kısalmasına neden olmaktadır. Ürün yaşam eğrilerinin kısalması, müşteri taleplerini çok iyi takip edip bu talepleri doğru zamanda, doğru yerde ve doğru fiyattan karşılamayı zorunlu hale getirmektedir. İşletmeler, müşteri taleplerini doğru analiz edip, bu müşteri istek ve ihtiyaçlarını karşılayacak ürün ve hizmeti zamanında müşteriye ulaştırdıkları oranda başarılı olmaktadırlar. İşletmelerin müşterilerine doğru ürünü, doğru miktarda ve doğru zamanda teslim etmeleri büyük ölçüde tedarikçilere bağlıdır. İşte tüm bu sebeplerden dolayı işletmelerin varlıklarını sürdürebilmeleri için uygun tedarikçileri seçmeleri ve ürün ve hizmetlerin sürekliliğini sağlamaları gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, son yıllarda genellikle ürün ve hizmet üretiminin tasarımında sıkça kullanılan metotlardan biri olan “Kalite Fonksiyon Göçerimi (KFG)” yöntemi, bir hizmet işletmesinin tedarikçi seçim probleminde çözüm olarak kullanılmıştır.
