DISPOSITIONS OF SUICIDE BETWEEN THE 1999-2009 YEARS IN THE LARGE CITIES OF TURKEY

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the suicide dispotisions of the large cities of Turkey between the years 1999-2009. These investigations are conducted after the founding of distinctive\risky provinces with a high dispositions of suicide, in reference to the reasons of suicide in these provinces. The action of suicide with increased rates in metropoles reflect the signs of social disaster enacted by rapid social transformations. The suicide actions in urban scale are constructed according to a method of investigation in line with the relational and wholistic logic of social reality. In the last years of 1999-2009 time series, Adana and Gaziantep provinces represent the distinctive and risky profiles of suicide. Moreover the commercial failures, economic insufficiencies, and the re-emergence of suicides caused by ilness signify the economic crisis as the social catalyst triggering the magnitude of suicide dispositions.

TÜRKİYE’NİN BÜYÜK KENTLERİNDE 1999-2009 YILLARI ARASINDAKİ İNTİHAR EĞİLİMLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma Türkiye’nin büyük kentlerinde yaşayan bireylerin 1999-2009 yılları arasındaki intihar eğilimlerini araştırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Türkiye İstatistik Enstitü’sünün 1999-2009 intihar istatistikleri veri tabanı baz alınarak büyük kent topluluklarının intihar eğilimlerinin tespit edilmesinden sonra bu kent toplulukları arasında ayırt edici ve riskli intihar profili temsil eden illerin intihar nedenleri ayrıca ele alınmaktadır. Büyük kentlerde son yıllarda artış eğilimi içerisinde olan intihar eylemleri toplumsal dönüşümün yıkıcı toplumsal göstergelerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Kentsel ortamdaki intihar eylemlerinin nasıl bir toplumsal eğilim içerisinde olduğu bu çalışmada toplumsal gerçekliğin ilişkisel ve bütünsel mantığına uygun düşen bir araştırma metodu aracılığıyla inşa edilmektedir. 1999-2009 zaman diliminin son yıllarında Adana ve Gaziantep kentleri ayırt edici ve riskli intihar profillerini temsil etmektedirler. Bunun yanı sıra 2001 yılının hemen sonrasında bu kentlerde ticari başarısızlık, geçim zorluğu ve hastalık nedenli intiharların öne çıkması ekonomik krizin intiharları arttırıcı sosyal bağlamı oluşturduğunu ortaya çıkarmaktadır
