Students’ Views On The Place And Importance Of History Of Turkish Education Course In Pedagogical Formation Certificate Programme

Abstract

In pedagogical formation certificate programme, students are need to take at least 8 compulsory courses which one of them is teaching practice course and two elective courses within two semesters. History of Turkish education course is also one of the elective courses group II. This study is a case study and planned to find out the place and importance of history of Turkish education course in pedagogical formation programme according to students’ views. The students who attended Pamukkale University pedagogical formation certificate programme during 2014-2015 academic year and chose history of Turkish education course offered consisted the data source of the study. The course was offered in three semesters and three focus groups were formed with attending students for each semester. Content analysis was done on the data gathered with focus group interviews. The reasons of course selection, expectations, place in the programme, and suggestions were reached as themes.

Pedagojik Formasyon Sertifika Programında Türk Eğitim Tarihi Dersinin Yeri ve Önemine İlişkin Öğrenci Görüşleri

Abstract

Pedagojik Formasyon Sertifika Programında öğrencilerin, en az iki yarıyılı kapsayacak biçimde biri öğretmenlik uygulaması olmak üzere toplam sekiz dersi zorunlu olarak ve iki dersi seçmeli olarak almaları gerekmektedir. Türk Eğitim Tarihi dersi de seçmeli dersler II grubunda yer alan derslerden biridir. Bu araştırma, Türk Eğitim Tarihi dersinin öğrenci görüşlerine göre pedagojik formasyon sertifika programındaki yeri ve önemini ortaya çıkarmaya yönelik planlanmış bir durum çalışmasıdır. Pamukkale Üniversitesinde açılan pedagojik formasyon sertifika programı kapsamında 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılında açılan Türk Eğitim Tarihi dersini seçen öğrenciler araştırmanın veri kaynağını oluşturmaktadır. Üç ayrı dönemde ders açılmış ve her dönem derse devam eden öğrencilerden üç ayrı odak grup oluşturulmuştur. Odak grup görüşmeleri ile toplanan veriler üzerinde içerik analizi yapılmıştır. Dersin seçilme nedenleri, beklentiler, program içindeki yeri ve öneriler temalarına ulaşılmıştır.
