Abstract

Bu çalışma, Henri Lefebvre’nin mekânsal üçlü kuramını temel alarak sinema filmlerinde mekân, iktidar ve toplumsal ilişkileri analiz eden yeni bir yöntem geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, mekân-iktidar çalışmalarına toplumsal yapıyı da dâhil ederek iki terimli mekân dikotomisini aşmak ve üç bileşen arasındaki trialektik etkileşimleri görünür kılmak hedeflenmektedir. Söz konusu etkileşimleri incelemek amacıyla söylem analizi yöntemi ile Lefebvre’nin kuramsal çerçevesi birleştirilmiş ve film çözümlemelerinde daha nesnel ve genelleştirilebilir bir analitik yapı sunulması amaçlanmıştır.
Araştırma, Neill Blomkamp’ın District 9(2009), Elysium(2013) ve Chappie(2015) filmlerini örneklem alarak, mekânın toplumsal ve iktidar yapıları arasındaki etkileşimini analiz etmektedir. Bu çalışma, söz konusu filmlerde mekânın nötr bir alandan ziyade toplumsal, ekonomik ve ideolojik ilişkilerin etkin bir bileşeni olarak ele alındığını göstermektedir.

Öz
Bu çalışma, Henri Lefebvre’nin mekânsal üçlü kuramını temel alarak sinema filmlerinde mekân, iktidar ve toplumsal ilişkileri analiz eden yeni bir yöntem geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, mekân-iktidar çalışmalarına toplumsal yapıyı da dâhil ederek iki terimli mekân dikotomisini aşmak ve üç bileşen arasındaki trialektik etkileşimleri görünür kılmak hedeflenmektedir. Söz konusu etkileşimleri incelemek amacıyla söylem analizi yöntemi ile Lefebvre’nin kuramsal çerçevesi birleştirilmiş ve film çözümlemelerinde daha nesnel ve genelleştirilebilir bir analitik yapı sunulması amaçlanmıştır.

VISUAL DIALECTICS OF SPACE: A NEW APPROACH TO FILM ANALYSIS THROUGH HENRI LEFEBVRE'S SPATIAL TRIAD
Abstract
This study aims to develop a new analytical method for examining space, power, and social relations in cinema, based on Henri Lefebvre’s spatial triad theory. Within this framework, the study seeks to transcend the binary spatial dichotomy by incorporating social structure into space-power relations, and to render visible the trialectical interactions among the three components of space. To investigate these interactions, Lefebvre’s theoretical framework is combined with discourse analysis, thereby proposing a more objective and generalizable analytical structure for film studies.
The research analyzes the interaction between spatial configurations and socio-political structures through the example of three films by Neill Blomkamp: District 9 (2009), Elysium (2013), and Chappie (2015). The study demonstrates that in these films, space is not treated as a neutral background but rather as an active component of social, economic, and ideological relations.
