Çocuklarda Ağır Hipertansiyona Yaklaşım

Year 2012, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 133 - 136, 01.06.2012

Abstract

Approach to Severe Hypertension in Children

Year 2012, Volume: 10 Issue: 1, 133 - 136, 01.06.2012

Abstract

Severe symptomatic hypertension which is also called hypertensive crisis is an acuteelevation in blood pressure to a level that has the potential to cause end-organ damage.Although not common in childhood, it is a life-threatening medical emergency.Hypertensive crises are classically distinguished into hypertensive urgency andhypertensive emergency depending on end-organ involvement including central nervoussystem CNS , heart, eye, and kidney. A severe elevation in blood pressure withoutevidence of acute target organ damage describes hypertensive urgency. Hypertensiveemergency is defined as severe hypertension complicated with severe symptoms oracute target organ dysfunction
