Pediatrik Kanser Hastalarında Oral Mukozit ve Ağız Sağlığı

Öz

Sitotoksik kemoterapi görecek veya kemoterapi almakta olan pediatrik kanser hastalarının ağız-diş sağlıklarının korunması, özel bir yaklaşım gerektirir. Pediatrik hastaların ağız-diş sağlığı, kemoterapinin sonuçlarını etkileyen önemli bir belirleyicidir. Pediatrik kanser hastalarında gelişen tüm septisemilerin üçte birinin oral enfeksiyonlara bağlı geliştiği bildirilmiştir 1,2 . Bu nedenle, kemoterapiden önce ağız dokularının muayenesinin ve gerekli tedavilerinin, kanser hastalarında bakım protokollerinin bir parçası olması gerektiği ifade edilmektedir 3 .
