İKLİM DEĞİŞİKLİĞİ İLE MÜCADELEDE DOĞA TEMELLİ ÇÖZÜMLER

Abstract

Bilimsel çalışmalara göre iklim değişikliğinin hızı ve etkileri her geçen gün giderek artmaktadır. Bu değişimin yarattığı ve gelecekte yaratacağı sorunlarla mücadelede doğaya yönelmek, doğadan yardım almak ve doğadan esinlenerek çözümler üretmek günümüzde büyük önem kazanmıştır. Dünya’nın pek çok yerinde hem kamu hem de özel kuruluşlar doğa temelli çözümleri iklim değişikliğiyle mücadele için önemli bir bileşen olarak görmekte ve dünyanın iklim değişikliğini hafifletme potansiyelinin ortalama %30’unu karşılayabileceğini varsaymaktadır. Bu çalışmada Kentsel Doğa Atlası veri tabanından yararlanarak Münih, Malmö, Toulouse gibi Avrupa şehirlerine ait doğa temelli çözüm uygulamaları ile İzmir/Türkiye’deki Avrupa Birliği tarafından desteklenen Urban GreenUP projeleri incelenmiştir.

NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE

Abstract

According to scientific studies, the speed and effects of climate change are increasing day by day. It has gained great importance today to turn to nature, to get help from nature and to produce solutions inspired by the nature to combat with the problems that this change has already created and will create in the future. Both public and private organizations in many parts of the world consider nature-based solutions as an important component for tackling climate change and assume that it can meet an average of 30% of the Earth's climate change mitigation potential. In this study, using the Urban Nature Atlas database, the nature-based solution applications of the European cities of Munich, Malmö and Toulouse together with the Urban GreenUP project of İzmir/Turkey supported by the EU, were investigated.
