Interventions for Forgiveness: A Review

Abstract

This review was conducted to draw attention to the issue by addressing the effectiveness of interventions for forgiveness. In order to identify studies dealing with interventions for forgiveness, published in Turkish or English and after 2010 in ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Turkish Psychiatry Index and TR Index databases, the keywords "forgiveness", "intervention", "effectiveness" were entered and scanned between January and March 2022. The bibliographies of the articles on forgiveness were scanned, review and descriptive studies were excluded. As a result, 24 studies were included in the review. When the studies are examined, it is seen that the applied interventions make a significant difference, and long-term follow-up is important. There seems to be a need for studies testing interventions for forgiveness in our country.
